As a Bank Dental Nurse working within our Emergency Dental Service, you’ll play a vital role in looking after every patient and supporting our dentists in delivering urgent care. With your knowledge of Private, NHS, and UDA treatments — alongside your understanding of GDC and other regulatory responsibilities — you’ll help set the highest standards for patients and the team, ensuring that exceptional care is provided even in the most critical situations. What You’ll Be Doing: Clinical Assistance – Support dentists during urgent procedures, prepare instruments, and help ensure patient comfort. Practice Management – Maintain dental equipment and uphold practice protocols and policies. Sterilisation and Infection Control – Lead on sterilisation and decontamination processes to create a safe, hygienic environment. Administrative and Reception Duties – Manage patient records, accounts, and other administrative tasks. Compliance – Assist the service manager in maintaining compliance with CQC standards and conduct surgery and emergency drug/equipment checks. Patient Care – Reassure patients, explain procedures, and address their concerns with empathy and professionalism. Professional Development – Keep your CPD up to date in line with our company training matrix. Communication – Collaborate effectively with the dental team, patients, and other staff. Stock Control – Manage inventory of dental supplies, materials, and conduct stock takes. Skills and Attributes We’re Looking For: Qualified and GDC-registered (or pending registration) Dental Nurse. Passionate about delivering excellent patient care at all times. Confident working with clinical freedom to support tailored patient care solutions. Excellent organisational and influencing skills to drive surgery efficiency and practice performance. Strong understanding of both Private and NHS dentistry and treatment options. A team player who understands the importance of working collaboratively within the surgery. Eager to share knowledge and act as a role model for trainee or apprentice nurses. Committed to ongoing professional development and keeping CPD up to date. Demonstrates full understanding of GDC and regulatory responsibilities.
