Join our team at M&S as a Customer Assistant in our café, where you'll champion our food and drink offerings, offers, and services. We’re seeking passionate individuals who take pride in our latest food and drink trends and are eager to share it with customers.
Working Pattern
* Monday 13:00-17:00
* Tuesday 13:00-17:00
* Thursday 13:00-17:00
* Saturday 13:00-17:00
Responsibilities
* Be a brand ambassador who’s ready to recommend and promote our café menu
* Provide remarkable service so customers feel valued every time they shop with us
* Use digital tools (digital menus, in-store devices) to enhance the customer experience and ensure customers get the products they want
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene and work efficiently to meet customer needs
* Create a great, inclusive café environment by supporting and respecting colleagues and customers
* Be flexible to work across various areas of the store and adapt to changing demands
Key Accountabilities
* Serve customers efficiently on the shop floor and at service points
* Deliver “best in town” standards through presentation, availability, and store cleanliness
* Utilise digital tools and communication channels to perform the role effectively
* Share customer and colleague feedback to help improve
* Support colleagues with knowledge sharing to build skill and confidence
* Own learning and proactively access digital learning solutions
* Know daily sales targets, priorities, promotions, and selling opportunities
* Have strong product knowledge to sell and recommend products and services
* Proactively engage with customers to understand needs and make recommendations
* Understand store priorities and their part to play
* Complete tasks with pace and in line with SOPs
* Minimise cost and waste through good process practice
* Follow safe and legal working practices

* Good digital capability and use of digital tools
* Understand customer needs and spot selling opportunities
