Job Summary
We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals to join our dedicated team on Ward 24 as Health Care Assistants. The successful candidate will uphold high standards of care and prioritize patient safety.
Requirements: Prior care experience is essential; a care certificate is desirable.
Main Duties
1. Assist the Registered Nurse with direct patient care.
2. Communicate effectively with patients, carers, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team.
3. Discuss patient comfort and safety, recording communications in Wirral Millennium.
4. Prioritize own workload and inform staff of any changes in patient condition.
5. Escort and chaperone patients as needed.
6. Support individual patient needs through effective communication.
7. Perform clerical duties such as filing and ordering supplies within stock levels.
8. Maintain equipment cleanliness and availability.
9. Assist in handling patients’ valuables and property safely.
10. Follow hospital policies, protocols, and guidelines.
11. Report patient concerns to the appropriate healthcare professional.
12. Participate in ward safety huddles and raise concerns.
13. Support patients in maintaining skin integrity through repositioning.
