Workshop Controller Vacancy in Swindon
1. Salary: Competitive salary pending experience plus access to performance-related bonuses.
2. Hours: Monday to Friday 6:00am-4:00pm with a ½ hour unpaid lunch break. Also, 1 in 3 Saturdays, 8:00am to 12:00pm.

Our client, a multi-franchise approved commercial vehicle dealership situated in Swindon, is currently looking to recruit a Workshop Controller to join their business.
Reporting to the Aftersales Manager, as a Workshop Controller, you will be fully responsible for running the day-to-day function of our client's workshops, where you will plan, control and deliver on overall workshop performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
4. Monitor and control use of all workshop resources (HGV Technicians, space and equipment) to ensure maximum impact on quality of work, efficiency and profitability.
5. Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operation of the workshop.
6. Be an active member of the service department team comprising workshop reception, foreman and stores to encourage high staff morale, timely customer care, workshop efficiency and productivity.
7. Monitor, resolve and report any action as appropriate to any health and safety issues in accordance with company policy.
To be eligible, you will need to have a proven track record in successfully controlling/managing an automotive workshop. Experience in workshop controlling within a commercial vehicle-oriented company would be highly advantageous; however is non-essential. Overall, you will have excellent communication skills, good interpersonal skills and team orientation, be results-oriented, have problem-solving and decision-making skills, put a focus on quality and reliability, have experience working towards targets, and be IT literate. You will also need to have a UK driving license with minimal points.
