DV-Cleared Application Support Engineer – Contract – Cheltenham – On-Site
Hays Technology is recruiting an Application Support Engineer for a secure, on-site contract role in Cheltenham. This position is outside IR35 and requires active DV clearance.
1. Rate: £550–£650/day
2. Location: Cheltenham (3/4 days/week on-site)
3. Duration: Contract
4. Clearance: Must hold live DV clearance
Role Overview
Join a specialist team maintaining a cross-domain managed service using modern Application Support practices. You'll support deployments, monitor performance, and troubleshoot issues across a diverse tech stack.
Responsibilities
5. Build and deploy code using Java, Maven, NPM, Terraform, and Ansible
6. Manage CI pipelines and automated testing (Cypress)
7. Monitor services with InfluxDB and Grafana
8. Provide 2nd/3rd line support and incident response
9. Perform OS patching, database housekeeping, and data centre ops
Required Skills
10. Experience in managed service environments
11. Strong Java or similar development background
12. Git version control
13. Strong problem-solving andmunication skills
Desirable Skills
14. Microservices, AMQP, S3, Oracle, Terraform/Ansible
