Construction Planner / Senior Planner

The Opportunity
We are looking to appoint an experienced Construction Planner or Senior Planner to join our London Construction division. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of complex, high-value projects across the capital, with a particular focus on cut & carve refurbishments and new build commercial schemes .You will be instrumental in driving programme strategy from pre-construction through to project completion, supporting successful delivery across a diverse portfolio of projects. Experience within education/schools projects would be advantageous but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development, management, and maintenance of detailed construction programmes using industry-standard planning software (e.g. Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject)
* Work closely with bid teams to develop pre-construction programmes, methodologies, and logistics strategies
* Provide programme advice and challenge to project teams, identifying risks, opportunities, and critical path activities
* Produce fully logic-linked schedules, including resource and cost considerations where required
* Monitor progress on live projects, producing regular updates, reports, and programme narratives
* Support project teams in implementing recovery strategies and mitigating delays
* Conduct programme audits and reviews to ensure compliance with contractual and internal standards
* Collaborate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure programme alignment and transparency
* Contribute to 4D planning, sequencing strategies, and visual programme outputs where applicable
About You
We are open to both Planner and Senior Planner level candidates, with the level dependent on your experience and ability to lead and influence.
Essential:
* Proven experience as a Planner within the UK construction sector
* Strong experience delivering cut & carve refurbishments and/or new build commercial projects
* Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject
* Solid understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and logistics in constrained urban environments (London experience highly desirable)
* Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information to inform programme development
* Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge and influence project stakeholders
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
Desirable:
* Experience working on school or education projects
* Previous exposure to 4D modelling tools
* Understanding of NEC or JCT contracts and programme requirements
* Relevant qualification in construction management, engineering, or related discipline
