As Heathrow embarks upon its 7th regulatory period "H7", Costain was awarded two lots as Major Project Partner and Asset Renewal Partner for Terminal 2 - The Queen's Terminal.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the procurement, surveys, scheme and production design of various Work packs - this could be for Demolition Works, Accommodation Upgrade or Baggage Replacement Programme.
The PM will ensure the scoping, options, scheme and production designs, for the above work packages are delivered to schedule, meet the project requirements and comply with HAL's baggage and engineering requirements, processes, procedures and arrangements; as well as statutory requirements such as building regulations.
They will be responsible for all project delivery aspects of the work packages including procurement, design and delivery of the Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA), Mechanical Electrical and Public Health (MEP) subcontracts and Control and Instrumentation systems (C&I) e.g. Building Management systems (BMS) and Life Safety Systems (LSS). They will be responsible for the design and construction co-ordination of the HAL IT activities. Contract management of the HAL IT contracts will be by others.
In addition, within the respective work stream, they will be responsible for establishing the Costain quality management system, project controls framework, commercial and cost management systems and implementation of the Principal Contractor role including construction processes, logistics, procedures and site arrangements.
Role Requirements
• Previous Project Management experience within a major infrastructure project
• In the work package design phases, you will be a key part of the integrated design teams ensuing that constructability, phasing and sequencing and procurement planning are embedded into the evolving designs ensuring that designs are buildable and are safe to install on site.
• Responsible for the co-ordination and integration of site activities, resolving site clashes between services and activities within other tranches and managing HAL operational stakeholder requirements and processes.
• Management of the Costain supply chain management team to deliver, and comply with, the processes for procurement/tendering MEP, C&I and CSA subcontracts.
• Costain will be Principal Contractor for the implementation phases and you will be responsible the delivery, management and co-ordination of relevant construction works, in line with the baseline construction schedule, project requirements and key milestones.
• BIM Model Management - co-ordination of the 3d model development and update and production of the Approved for Construction drawings.
• Schedule - Develop an integrated construction schedule that contains all the key activities from HAL project lifecycle including governance gateways, procurement, construction, BOA, ORAT, Bringing into Use and Handover processes.
• Cost Estimating - Co-ordination of MEP, CSA, and C&I system construction cost estimates into Tranche-level construction phase cost plans.
• Stakeholder management - working with a wide range of project and operational stakeholders, handlers and airlines to secure buy-in to designs and operational impacts that will arise during the construction phases of the work packages.
• Interface Management - responsible for co-ordinating managing the HAL IT, baggage system interfaces and interfaces with other programmes occurring concurrently with the T2BP.
• Lead workshops for critical delivery items e.g. site wide integrated systems e.g. BMS and LSS systems (Fire alarm, detection and suppression systems).
• Performance Reporting - support the overall MPP performance reporting (cost, schedule, risk) at the monthly project review process by providing tranche-level data and progress updates.
• Manage and co-ordinate completion works, bringing into use, handover and transition into operations of the T1 building and services.
• Administer M&E, CSA and C&I subcontracts on Cemar.
• Delivery of the work packages in accordance with the construction phase cost plan, schedule and risk register.
• Develop and secure approval of key MPP deliverables e.g. tranche-level construction and logistics delivery plan and application of learning plan.
Support HAL with the governance gateways G2 to G8 - slide decks, scope, schedule, cost and risk.
