An opportunity to join for a Band 6 nurse to join the established Emergency Multidisciplinary Unit (EMU) at Abingdon Community Hospital, has arisen. EMU is an ambulatory unit, working to deliver quality assessment and effective healthcare to the people of Oxfordshire within their own community, whilst being part of a great service which is fully aligned with current NHS strategic policy aiming to prevent unnecessary hospital admission and treatment in the community. The service has a holistic multidisciplinary approach to triaging, assessment, treatment and discharge planning. We encourage collaborative relationships both within the team and with other locality teams such as Hospital at Home, district nurses, Urgent Community Response team (UCR) GPs and Single Point of Access (SPA).
You will support the Ward Manager in all aspects of ward management, providing clinical advice, expertise and strong leadership skills with excellent communication. You will be part of a fantastic multi-disciplinary team supporting the service to provide a holistic approach to triage, assessment, treatment and discharge planning, of patients who have a complexity of health needs.

* Provide and follow a patient centred treatment plan that has been agreed with the patient and the Consultant
* Escalate any concerns in a timely and appropriate way
* Provide team direction and caseload management as the daily co-ordinator
* Provide high quality evidence based assessment and treatment, in line with the patients wishes and in conjunction with the responsible Consultant
* Provide support and development to junior team members and students
* Provide support to B6 peers and Clinical Lead when appropriate
* Provide quality triage and advice to patients, peers, other Community Teams and Health Professionals when required
* Deputise for the Clinical lead when on leave
* Take leadership on clinical governance tasks for the unit.
