Are you passionate about driving training and competence in the energy sector?
Our client, an established North Sea Oil Operator, is seeking a Senior Competence & Training Advisor to join the HR team. To take the lead on their competence management strategy across both onshore and offshore operations.
What you'll do.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring training and competence systems are fully aligned with business needs, legislation and industry standards. From managing in-house systems and coaching team members, to overseeing SHE-critical training activities, this is a role where strategic vision meets hands-on delivery.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading the implementation of the Competence Management Strategy
* Overseeing competence systems (CMDS, C2D, TA Framework)
* Acting as a subject matter expert for training and competence
* Managing internal and external training quality and compliance
* Supporting contractor competence governance
* Conducting internal verification and quality assurance
* Preparing and analysing reports to ensure data-driven improvements
* Liaising with regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders and contractors
* Occasionally travelling offshore or overseas (West Africa/North Sea)
About You
You’re a diplomatic but driven leader who thrives on improving systems, supporting people and delivering excellence.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Experience in a similar role within the offshore oil / gas / energy sector
* Recognised Competency Assessor and Internal Verifier
* Proven track record with competence systems and training governance
* Proficiency in MS Office and training competence database systems
* Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
Preferred:
* Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma)
* Internal/External Auditor qualification
* Experience chairing meetings and managing quality outputs
