Job Description:
Our client a natural fibre company are seeking an experienced textile mill operative to join their team on either a permanent or temp - perm basis.
What we offer:
1. Monday - Thursday - Fridays off!
2. 06.00 to 17.00
3. £14.50-£15.00 per hour
4. Weekly pay & Holiday pay accrued - IF temp - perm
The role:
5. Operate machinery including carding, combing, spinning, and winding equipment.
6. Prepare and process wool and other natural fibres to required specifications
7. Monitor yarn quality and identify faults or inconsistencies Adjust machine settings to maintain production standards
8. Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of machinery
9. Work collaboratively with the production team to meet customer orders and deadlines
10. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
11. Administration: Complete all necessary paperwork related to material handling and yarn production.
Experience required:
12. Experience in textile spinning, preferably worsted system
13. Basic to intermediate mathematics skills (arithmetic, ratios, percentages)
14. Understanding of yarn structure and fibre properties
15. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
16. Attention to detail and quality control awareness
17. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
