Responsibilities
Drive the introduction of new products into manufacturing, defining efficient production methods and providing guidance to design and production teams.
Lead structured problem‑solving activities for production-related issues.
Contribute to cost‑reduction initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Support the introduction of new processes, technologies, and tooling, including preparing capital expenditure justifications.
Deliver training and guidance to operators on production‑related topics.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of modern production engineering practices and manufacturing technologies.
Act as a key interface between manufacturing and other business functions.
Work collaboratively across all business levels to support efficient use of resources.
Generate estimates and monitor costs related to the job function.
Promote and uphold health & safety standards.
Liaise regularly with external suppliers and customers.
Work accurately under pressure with production equipment data and build documentation.
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including project work and departmental responsibilities.
Provide guidance to production staff and engineers (no direct people management).
Qualifications & Experience
Good level of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry.
HNC or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
Strong understanding of production processes, ideally including electromechanical manufacturing.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ideally a Manufacturing Management System (MMS).
Experience with drawing/CAD tools is desirable.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across teams, customers, and suppliers.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build productive working relationships.
Able to plan work effectively around departmental objectives and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated problem‑solving capability across multiple functional areas.
Highly organised, methodical, and accurate when working under pressure.
Financial awareness — able to produce quotations and monitor spend (no direct budget ownership).
Willing to take responsibility, work hard, and learn through provided training.
