39 weeks contract role with a Local Authority Job Summary: • The Technical Transition Manager will lead and oversee technical transition projects within Barnet Council’s Growth division. • This temporary role involves managing the planning, implementation, and delivery of technology and system changes, ensuring smooth transition processes, minimal disruption, and alignment with organisational objectives. Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample): • Manage end-to-end technical transition projects, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met. • Coordinate across multiple teams, including IT, operations, and business stakeholders. • Develop and implement transition plans, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies. • Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting to senior management. • Ensure compliance with internal policies, governance, and relevant regulatory standards. • Identify and resolve technical issues during transitions, escalating when necessary • Facilitate communication and training for staff impacted by system or technical changes. • Collaborate with external suppliers or contractors as required to support transition objectives. Skills/Experience: • Proven experience in technical project or transition management. • Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, or software transitions. • Ability to develop and execute detailed project plans. • Experience in risk management and issue resolution. • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities. • Knowledge of governance and compliance in public sector environments. • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Experience in interim or temporary project delivery roles is advantageous.
