As part of the Service Department, the Field Service Engineer is responsible for break fix, maintaining, and installing Bizerba equipment for our customer base. With a proven technical background, preferably supported by a technical qualification, you will liaise directly with customers to ensure the delivery of efficient and professional service.
Role and Requirements
1. Service, install, and repair a wide range of weighing and inspection equipment, including static scales, automatic check weighing, automatic weigh price labelling systems, metal detection, X-RAY, and vision inspection systems.
2. Investigate complex technical issues such as electrical, mechanical breakdowns, and network-related problems.
3. Provide customer training on equipment.
4. Manage and maintain effective stock levels of parts needed for repairs.
5. Project a professional image of the department and company to both internal and external customers. Uniform provided.
6. Maintain the company vehicle in a clean and organized manner, ensuring all maintenance requirements are met in accordance with company policy.
7. Maintain a library of backups for customers.
8. Keep all company tools, such as hand tools, ladders, laptops, etc., in good order.
9. Attend all required training courses and ensure all H&S training is up to date.
10. Adhere to policies and procedures related to health and safety and quality management.
11. Maintain calibrated weights and ensure they are compliant with standards.
12. When calibrating or verifying equipment, ensure all legal standards are met and work is carried out to the highest standards.
13. Obtain all relevant qualifications deemed necessary by Bizerba for carrying out duties.
14. Write detailed reports on incidents or calls to assist the line manager.
15. Participate in out-of-hours work when required.
16. Complete all administrative tasks promptly and to expected standards.
17. Hold a full, legally valid UK driving license.
18. Possess a valid Safety Passport/ECS or equivalent.
19. Work towards company KPIs and SLAs.
20. Be prepared for overnight stays for training or task completion as needed.
21. Participate in rollout and refit activities as required.
22. Attend head office as necessary based on business needs.
23. Perform ad-hoc duties as requested by your line manager or senior management.
