Graduate Science Trainee Teacher – Job Specification
* Minimum 2:1 degree in a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field)
* A genuine passion for science education and a strong desire to become an outstanding Science teacher
* Earn up to £31,000 per year during your training
* Train at an Ofsted-rated Outstanding secondary school with a track record of nurturing new teachers
* Achieve QTS by July 2026 through an immersive, classroom-based programme
* Work alongside an experienced, supportive Science department focused on student progress
Graduate Science Trainee Teacher – The Role
Beginning in September 2025, this programme offers a structured, school-centred pathway into teaching. You’ll start with a reduced timetable to allow for a smooth transition into the classroom, supported by a comprehensive training framework and dedicated subject mentor.
You’ll initially focus on lesson planning and resource creation before gradually taking on more teaching responsibilities. With regular feedback and tailored support, you’ll refine your teaching practice throughout the year.
By the end of the academic year, you’ll have developed the confidence and skill set needed to become a fully qualified Science teacher, with QTS awarded by July 2026.
