Offer description

"Support Dragonfly Cancer Trust by collecting, organising, and reporting key data to help measure impact and improve services for young cancer patients and their families."

What difference will you make?

As a Reporting and Data Volunteer, you will make a lasting difference to the lives of young people living with cancer. By helping us collect and present vital information, you'll ensure that every story, every number, and every outcome reflects the true impact of our work. Your support will give us the tools to show funders, partners, and supporters how their generosity changes lives, helping us to secure the resources needed to reach even more young patients and families. The data you handle won't just be numbers — it will represent memories created, moments shared, and comfort given in the most difficult of times. By turning information into insight, you will guide how the charity grows, adapts, and responds to the needs of those we support. Thanks to your contribution, Dragonfly Cancer Trust can confidently demonstrate the value of its work and continue bringing light to families when it's needed most. Your gift of time will help ensure that no young person faces cancer without the chance to create precious and lasting memories.

What are we looking for?

Key Skills and Attributes Attention to Detail Accuracy is essential when handling sensitive information. You'll need to work carefully to ensure data is correct, consistent, and reliable. Organisational Skills The ability to keep track of tasks, manage different sources of information, and maintain clear records will be central to your contribution. IT Literacy Confidence in using spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), databases, or other digital tools is helpful. Training can be provided, but a basic comfort level with computers will be useful. Analytical Thinking You don't need to be a statistician, but being able to spot patterns, trends, or gaps in information will help us understand our impact and guide improvements. Communication Skills Sometimes you may need to prepare short reports, contribute to summaries, or highlight useful insights. Being able to present information clearly — both written and spoken — is valuable. Confidentiality and Sensitivity You will be working with information that reflects real people's stories and experiences. A respectful, discreet, and compassionate approach is essential at all times. Teamwork and Independence You should be comfortable working on your own tasks but also happy to link in with colleagues and share progress as part of a team effort. Problem-Solving Mindset If you encounter missing information or unclear data, the ability to think logically and suggest practical solutions will be highly beneficial. Adaptability and Willingness to Learn Charities often work in fast-changing environments. Being flexible and open to new systems or approaches will help you feel confident in the role. Skills Previous experience with databases, data entry, or reporting. Knowledge of data visualisation or presentation tools. Background in administration, research, or impact evaluation. Most importantly, you should have an enthusiasm for using your skills to make a positive difference. Every contribution you make will support our mission to ensure young people living with cancer are able to create special memories with their loved ones.

What will you be doing?

Dragonfly Cancer Trust is dedicated to supporting young cancer patients under the age of 25, helping them and their families create precious memories during the most difficult of times. We are looking for a detail-oriented and passionate volunteer to join our team as a Reporting and Data Volunteer. In this role, you will play an important part in helping the Trust measure its impact, improve services, and ensure that the support we provide reaches as many young people and families as possible. By assisting with data collection, organisation, and reporting, you will directly contribute to a clear understanding of our work and strengthen the way we communicate our outcomes. What you'll do Support the collection and organisation of data from a variety of sources. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with confidentiality and data protection requirements. Assist in producing reports that highlight the outcomes and impact of Dragonfly Cancer Trust's services. Help monitor trends and key information to guide future planning and delivery. Contribute to the preparation of information for funders, partners, and internal stakeholders.
