Carpenters Workshop Gallery in London are looking for a detail-oriented, hard-working enthusiast Sales Assistant to support the Sales. Carpenters Workshop Gallery collaborated with and exhibits a diverse range of emerging and established artists who come from a wide range of practices as artists, designers and architects. Each piece is firstly created as a work of art, uniting art, design form and function with a mix of price points. About the Position: We are seeking a Sales Assistant to join our London team at Ladbroke Hall, Notting Hill. The ideal candidate will have a background in contemporary art and design, proven experience, a track record in sales and an understanding of the artistic process. The candidate should have experience in a gallery setting or an international and dynamic professional environment and thrives in a fast-paced environment where the days are always different. This role is available immediately. Responsibilities Sales Support the gallery’s global and regional goals Establish and maintain positive personal relationships with all clients to ensure client business Research new client targets Host clients and attend events at the London gallery, UK and international fairs/exhibitions and industry events as required Generate invoices and track payments Manage after-sales service to ensure everything runs smoothly from purchase and production to delivery Manage Production and Back-Office Artist relations, staying updated on artist projects, exhibitions/events, inventory & contracts Production processes: including finalising designs, final order approvals, following up on production, and invoicing. Update CRM systems with relevant contacts & inventory and record interest and sales Manage international shipment and installation of artworks Liaise with logistics team on condition of artworks and oversee any needed repairs Support strategy for all CWG Exhibitions and Fairs Art Fairs: Assisting the sales and events team by liaising with logistics, marketing and studio teams Support the sales team with exhibition and fair strategy implementation, including sales pipeline, installation, associated events, client communication, etc. Active client outreach before fairs or exhibition openings to create appetite and interest. Attendance at art fairs, surrounding events, exhibition launches, artist talks and client events – some evening and weekend work required Day to Day Setting up the gallery including opening and locking up, installation, storage, ensuring gallery is clean and presentable, daily walk arounds to check for issues, g Preparation of deliveries and receiving goods Preparing, official documents inventory control, etc. Maintaining filing systems Book travel, hotel, and restaurant reservations for Sales Team and Artists General administrative tasks, including answering phones, ordering items, sorting mail, liaising with teams across the gallery etc Welcoming all visitors Essential Qualifications and Skills Required: Ability to work legally in the United Kingdom Fluent English required Previous experience in sales, the creative, design or art industries Knowledge and interest in collectible design, furniture, sculpture, and contemporary art Strong relationship and communication skills both verbal, written and in person Required skills: working to tight deadlines, flexible, proactive, ability to multi-task and prioritise, excellent attention to details, motivated and a problem solver Excellent computer skills in a Apple Mac based environment. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential. ArtLogic, Hubspot, Sage and Asana experience is highly desirable English required, additional languages including Arabic, Hindu, Chinese desired.
