Managed Network Solutions – Account Director
Location: Wigan (Hybrid - requirement to be on site for a few days each week/travel)

An exciting leadership opportunity has opened for an experienced Account Director to oversee a portfolio of high-profile clients in the managed network solutions space. This role is ideal for someone with a track record of success in sectors such as retail, hospitality, and other large-scale multi-site operations, where dependable connectivity and service excellence are business-critical.
You’ll act as the senior interface between customer organisations and internal delivery teams—ensuring exceptional service outcomes, commercial performance, and long-term value across the relationship lifecycle. This role suits someone who’s both strategically minded and operationally hands-on, comfortable operating across a variety of stakeholders and delivery functions.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the trusted lead contact for a portfolio of enterprise-scale clients across diverse sectors.
* Build and sustain strong, strategic relationships with senior client stakeholders.
* Ensure service alignment with evolving client goals, addressing any issues before they escalate.
* Represent internal capability confidently, providing assurance and direction where needed.
* Develop tailored account plans aligned with client roadmaps and wider business strategy.
* Lead or support strategic bids, proposals, and formal procurement processes.
* Facilitate smooth transitions between sales and delivery functions, staying engaged through delivery.
* Use service and performance data to drive insights, improvements, and value delivery.
* Guide and support a small, high-performing team across account management and client success roles.
* Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and results-focused delivery.
* Influence internal priorities to best support client satisfaction and business objectives.
* Monitor account performance including revenue forecasting, profitability, and contractual compliance.
* Work closely with finance and delivery partners to ensure commercial health and long-term sustainability.
* Drive innovation and service evolution through continuous improvement initiatives.
* Identify and progress opportunities to expand existing accounts through additional services or solutions.
* Build compelling business cases for renewal and growth opportunities.
* Explore adjacent or emerging market opportunities within your existing client footprint.
Qualifications
* Significant experience managing complex, enterprise-level client accounts within managed network or technology services.
* Strong understanding of service delivery across large, distributed environments.
* Commercial acumen with the ability to influence at both operational and board levels.
* Proven relationship management and client retention skills.
* Effective communicator and negotiator, comfortable in complex or high-stakes conversations.
* Strong organisational leadership, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Must be prepared to work from the office in Wigan a couple of days each week.
* Exposure to sectors with distributed infrastructure such as retail, hospitality, or multi-location commercial environments.
* Experience operating within or alongside managed services organisations.
* Familiarity with modern network and connectivity solutions.
