Are you an engineer with a background in construction, mechanical, or electrical projects looking to take on a varied and impactful role? This is an exciting opportunity to join a Future Factory programme that is modernising and transforming site facilities and processes.
As a Technical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. You'll act as the link between site management, project teams, and subcontractors, making sure requirements are clearly defined and achieved through sound engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Site Modernisation Manager in the daily coordination of construction and M&E projects.
- Monitor project timelines, identifying and mitigating risks to delivery.
- Maintain master project documents for schedules and costs in collaboration with the Project Manager and subcontractors.
- Review and interpret construction, mechanical, and electrical schematic drawings.
- Prepare safety documentation to ensure compliance with HSE directives.
- Attend and contribute to meetings covering site, safety, engineering, timing, and cost.
- Liaise with external contractors and internal support functions.
About You
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (BTEC) and/or Electrical/Construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and M&E installations.
- Ability to interpret construction, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
- Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- A team player who can also work independently when required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (intermediate+), including Microsoft Project.
- Willingness to travel within the UK, with occasional overnight stays (some European travel may be required).
Desirable:
- 2+ years' experience as a Project Engineer or Coordinator in construction or facilities management.
- Served an apprenticeship within mechanical, electrical, or construction disciplines.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
