Main duties of the job
* You will be an integral part of the team providing direct care to patients with a variety of mental health problems
* To act as the named nurse with responsibility for the overall care of an identified group of clients
* To regularly act as shift co-ordinator ensuring the smooth running of the clinical area and best utilisation of resources available, with support from senior staff
* You will be involved in provide a high level of safe and effective care
* Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
* Adhere to all Trust policies, procedures and guidelines
* Liaise with the multidisciplinary team
* Provide mentorship to others

Education / Qualifications
* First level registered nurse, RMN or RN in Mental Health
* Understanding of numeracy and language skills
* Experience of working with people experiencing emotional distress and/or mental illness
* Training in psychosocial interventions
Knowledge
* The Mental Health Act 1983 and Code of Practice
* Understanding of equality and diversity
* Understanding of clinical audit
* PMVA
Experience
* Experience of working within mental health settings
* Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
* Experience of care planning and risk assessment
* Experience of working with clients with severe and enduring mental illness
* At least 12 months in a supervisory role
