Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Duties
* Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service.
* Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth workflow during busy service periods.
* Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
* Assist in the training of new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and kitchen procedures.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
* Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
* Participate in menu planning and development alongside the head chef.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Line Cook or similar role within a restaurant setting.
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Supervising experience is an advantage, along with team management skills.
* Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
* Strong leadership qualities to motivate and guide kitchen staff.
* A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
