Job Advert Location Description
Cleveland House is located in Banks, Southport, and offers residential support for 32 males and females with an acquired brain injury (ABI), progressive neurological condition (PNC), and associated physical health needs.
We are looking for Bank Support Workers to join our team.
The role:
Supports and assists qualified staff in planning and implementing resident care, delivering care as per individual care plans.
Key Accountabilities
1. Assist qualified staff with implementation of individual resident care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities to promote well-being, dignity, and treatment of residents.
2. Provide practical support and responsive care to residents requiring assistance with personal needs such as dressing, bathing, and toileting, ensuring compliance with procedures and healthcare legislation.
3. Observe and monitor residents' well-being, promptly referring any unusual physical, mental, or emotional occurrences to senior staff or the primary nurse, and document appropriately.
4. Monitor and allocate work for care assistants.
5. Develop and maintain professional relationships with residents, colleagues, and visitors, responding promptly and courteously to requests and inquiries.
Additional responsibilities include:
1. Working with management to develop and implement new services within the unit.
2. Ensuring residents receive value-for-money care.
3. Monitoring the work of care assistants.
4. Collective responsibility for the care and appropriate use of resources.
5. Maintaining accurate and confidential records of residents.
6. Engaging in frequent interactions with staff, residents, and visitors, involving routine information exchange.
7. Handling challenging situations that may heighten physical, sensory, and emotional demands.
8. Participating in governance or training activities to enhance service quality.
Knowledge & Skills: Educated to GCSE/NVQ 2 or above with a good standard of English.
Experience: Previous care experience, preferably relevant to the home setting.
Autonomy & Impact: Organize and prioritize work, referring complex issues to senior staff, with routine duties guided by policies and procedures.
Problem Solving: Limited flexibility in routine tasks, but encouraged to suggest improvements in healthcare processes or activities.
