Overview
The Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) and Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) roles provide opportunities to deliver evidence‑based early interventions for children and young people across educational settings and healthcare sectors in England, with a focus on a whole‑school approach. The positions are based in Luton, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard, and Flitwick, serving diverse communities and aiming to reduce health inequalities through partnership with schools and external partners.
Responsibilities
The post holder will be a member of the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST), responsible for delivering the school’s overarching approach to mental health and wellbeing support. Key duties include:
* Developing and delivering a wide range of interventions, projects, and system changes to adopt whole‑school and whole‑community approaches.
* Providing Guided Self‑Help to young people and families dealing with anxiety, low mood, and challenging behaviours.
* Responding flexibly and creatively to the needs of school populations, with support from the team and supervision.
* Adapting to remote work and prioritising access to services and resources.
* Contributing to a comprehensive stepped care model delivered by CAMHS ELFT services in the county.
