The Junior IT Support Executive provides 1st/2nd line support to internal IPA staff and external parties as part of room hire arrangements. Support areas include computers, servers, telephony and AV equipment. The IT Executive will carry out project and infrastructure work as required and basic training/inductions of new users. On the job training and mentoring will be provided. The role is expected to comprise 70% support and 30% project work.
Hybrid Working
The IPA currently has a hybrid working pattern of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the office with Monday and Friday working from home. The pattern applies to most staff; the IT Executive role may be required to come in on other days to carry out work on office‑based hardware or support events. Occasionally, the role may need to be in the office earlier or work later.
Main Accountabilities
* Provide 1st/2nd line IT support to IPA staff.
* Proactively support delegates and presenters during IPA/external events (AV).
* Carry out project/infrastructure work as requested by the Head of IT.
* Contribute to IT discussions around projects and research business solutions.

* Windows 10/11.
* Basic Apple product support.
* Basic networking (IP addressing/routing).
* Basic understanding of security (anti‑virus, firewalls, email security).
* Advanced security (CheckPoint firewall, endpoint, email).
* Windows Server 2008 R2/2012 R2/2016.
* Active Directory and Group Policy.
* Telephone system administration.
* Administration of Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Azure.
