The Job
As an Employment Specialist, you’ll manage a caseload of up to 25 clients with health support needs who are motivated to begin or return to work. You will deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach (training provided), working closely with multidisciplinary teams within primary care networks to foster an integrated recovery pathway.
Day to day you will:

Meet clients individually to understand their strengths, goals, and aspirations

Use vocational profiling and action planning to help them move into suitable employment
*
Support with job search, CVs, applications, interviews, and disclosure guidance
*
Identify job opportunities, including through engaging the hidden labour market
*
Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers
*
Negotiate adjustments and support employers in job retention and return-to-work strategies
*
Provide in-work support to clients once placed to help sustain employment
*
Attend multidisciplinary team meetings to promote the service and secure referrals
*
Maintain accurate records, monitor progress and adhere to IPS fidelity practice standards

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:

Experience supporting individuals into work, across employment services, health, skills, supported employment or similar settings
*
Strong engagement and relationship-building abilities with clients, employers and external partners
*
Confidence in coaching and empowering others towards their goals
*
A person-centred approach with a genuine passion for helping people
*
Ability to manage a caseload and work autonomously while part of a wider team
*
Good administrative and record-keeping skills
*
Flexibility to travel locally and support outreach/activity as required
Previous knowledge of IPS is beneficial but full IPS training will be provided, so candidates from welfare-to-work, careers, employability, recruitment, advice and guidance, or mental health support backgrounds are strongly encouraged.
