Overview
The role involves but is not limited to:
* Working on automation projects as part of a team
* Ownership of the electrical design standards, driving positive change throughout the business
* Developing electrical design machine control systems from concept through to final detailed stage to fulfil customer standards and specifications
* Observe and comply with management systems, ISO9001 quality systems and CE/UKCA Safety Standards
* Produce technical/functional specifications and work closely with the controls manager to assess architecture
* Creation of a full set on Electrical Schematics including BOMs to company standards and specifying requirements for the purchasing of components
* Creation of clear panel layouts in 2D & 3D
* Cable Label exports & IO Exports
* Produce accurate documentation to support designs and assist with the preparation and compiling of manuals and other related documents.
* Communicate and report on project progress, solve problems and initiate corrective actions from redlines and design changes, supporting the completion of the project on time, within budget and functioning correctly and safely
Qualifications
* Min. 3 years' experience of electrical design in automation
* Pneumatic design
* Min. 3 years' experience in electrical design of welding lines
* Microsoft Office usage
* Proficient in the use of EPLAN, including fluid and 3D panel design
* Advanced knowledge of Network Protocol connections
* Advanced knowledge of safety architecture design i.e safe zones, 24V/230V isolation
* Advanced experience working with automation equipment, both panel and field
* Excellent electrical standards and latest safety standards related to automated assembly lines
* Blue print reading and electrical schematics
Desirable Experience
* Automotive first tier supplier BIW knowledge
* Knowledge of Sinamics/VFD and other drive technologies
* Knowledge of PLC programming
* Panel building experience
* More than 5 years' experience using EPLAN
* Festo Fluiddraw experience
* Knowledge of automated welding processes and connections
