Learning Support Assistant Role
1. Location: Maidenhead
2. Salary: From £101 to £110 per day
3. Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:45 PM

We’re looking for compassionate and proactive Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist primary setting in Maidenhead. The school supports children with Autism, SEMH, and mild to moderate learning difficulties, offering access to therapies such as Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy. The environment is nurturing, structured, and therapeutic – designed to help children overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.

What You’ll Do
11. Support children with Autism, PDA, SEMH, and related needs in one-to-one or small group settings.
12. Use personalised and creative strategies to help pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviour.
13. Collaborate with teachers and therapists to create a holistic, trauma-informed learning environment.
14. Encourage independence, resilience, and life skills in everyday routines.
15. Support children’s participation in both academic and therapeutic sessions, making effective use of the school’s spaces, such as calm rooms, outdoor areas, and sensory learning environments.
16. Provide sensitive personal care when required, ensuring pupils feel safe, respected, and included.
What We’re Looking For
17. A genuine passion for working with children with additional needs, particularly Autism, PDA, and SEMH.
18. Patience, empathy, creativity, and a calm approach to challenging behaviour.
19. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with children and staff.
20. Experience in SEN, youth work, or education is helpful but not essential – full training is provided.
21. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
