Role Overview
We're looking for a passionate and experienced Benefits Assessment and Financial Inclusion Manager to join West Northamptonshire Council at an exciting time of transformation and opportunity. In this pivotal leadership role, you'll help ensure vital support reaches residents who need it most, while shaping services that are high-quality, responsive and sustainable for the future. Working closely with the Revenues and Benefits Service Director, you will play a key part in delivering our vision of making West Northants a great place to live, work and thrive.
Responsibilities
* Lead and inspire the Benefits Assessment and Financial Inclusion teams, creating a positive, collaborative culture that delivers excellent outcomes for residents and the Council.
* Oversee the effective delivery of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and financial inclusion support.
* Drive digital transformation and continuous improvement across all services.
* Work closely with colleagues, partners, elected members and the voluntary sector, contributing expertise, ideas and leadership to shape resilient, customer‑focused services.
* Ensure vital support reaches residents who need it most by balancing strategic thinking with operational leadership.
Qualifications
* Strong experience in benefits, financial inclusion or public‑facing services.
* Confident, inclusive leader who brings people with you and thrives on making a meaningful difference.
* Sound judgement, empathy, clarity and a commitment to fairness.
* Comfortable leading change, influencing stakeholders and navigating complexity.
* Persistent focus on residents' needs at the heart of everything you do.
