Salary: Main Pay Scale or Upper Pay Scale (£41,147 - £58,812 or £62,077 - £65,990 + SEN Allowance of £2,745 per annum and Management Allowance Level 1 of £3,907 per annum)

We are seeking a Qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (QTVI) to join our Sensory Support Services team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that learners with vision impairments can access education fully and inclusively across our unique island community.
This role is about more than itinerant teaching; it is about being an advocate and architect for inclusion. You will work collaboratively with families, learners, and multi-agency networks to translate the ALN Code of Practice into meaningful classroom outcomes.

Responsibilities:
Promote and implement inclusive strategies to ensure learners with vision impairments have access to education.
Act as a specialist lead, working effectively with families, schools, and third-sector partners to provide holistic support.
Ensure all practice is consistent with the Education Strategy and the ALN Code of Practice.
Navigate and contribute to local networks and systems to improve outcomes for learners with sensory needs.
Demonstrate flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting a diverse caseload within a specialised service.
Requirements:
Mandatory Qualification for Teachers of Children and Young People with Vision Impairment (QTVI) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Proven experience in supporting learners with vision impairments across various educational settings.
The ability to simplify complex sensory information and provide high-impact strategies for school-based staff.
A resilient, collaborative professional with a genuine passion for championing the rights of learners with ALN.
