Are you a specialist educator driven by the belief that every learner deserves an equitable pathway to success? We are seeking a Qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (QTVI) to join our Sensory Support Services team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that learners with vision impairments can access education fully and inclusively across our unique island community.

This role is about more than itinerant teaching; it is about being an advocate and architect for inclusion. You will work collaboratively with families, learners, and multi-agency networks to translate the ALN Code of Practice into meaningful classroom outcomes.

Benefits:

Competitive Salary & Pension: Significant pay scales with an additional specialist allowance

Contribute to school self-evaluation and play an active role in driving continuous school improvement.

Responsibilities:

Promote and implement inclusive strategies to ensure learners with vision impairments have access to education.

Act as a specialist lead, working effectively with families, schools, and third-sector partners to provide holistic support.

Navigate and contribute to local networks and systems to improve outcomes for learners with sensory needs.

Demonstrate flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting a diverse caseload within a specialised service.

A resilient, collaborative professional with a genuine passion for championing the rights of learners with ALN.

Even if you don't meet every single criterion listed, if you are a resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting students and a willingness to learn, we would still love to hear from you.
