Senior Surveyor / Associate Director – Building Surveying
Location: Glasgow
NLM Building Consultancy is seeking to appoint an experiencedSenior Surveyor or Associate Directorto join our growing Glasgow office. This opportunity has arisen due to sustained business growth and an increasing workload across both private and public sector projects.
You will join a dynamic and collaborative team delivering a wide range of building consultancy and project management services. Our work includes building surveys and technical due diligence, dilapidations, condition surveys, contract administration, project management, planned preventative maintenance programmes, feasibility studies, defect analysis, and stock condition surveys.
The Role
As a key member of the team, you will:
* Act as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering high-quality professional advice.
* Manage multiple projects and core Building Surveying instructions across a varied portfolio, ensuring delivery to the highest standards.
* Mentor and support junior team members, including APC candidates.
* Contribute to business development initiatives and support the continued growth of the business and regional presence.
* Undertake travel throughout the UK and Europe as required to service client instructions.
About You
We are looking for a motivated and experienced building surveyor who:
* Has a strong consultancy background, currently operating at Senior Surveyor or Associate Director level.
* Has aBSc in Building Surveyingor equivalent qualification.
* Demonstrates excellent technical knowledge across core building surveying disciplines.
* Is confident managing multiple projects and delivering high-quality outputs.
* Has strong client-facing and relationship management skills.
* Has experience leading teams and supporting the development of junior staff, including APC candidates.
* Is comfortable contributing to business development and helping drive growth.
* Possesses strong report writing and communication skills.
* Is proficient inAutoCAD, NBS, and Microsoft 365applications.
* We operate solely on Apple equipment, so ideally has experience working with Apple systems (e.g. Numbers, Pages)
* Willing to travel around the UK to service instructions and work from alternative office locations including Edinburgh and London for short periods as and when required.
* Full driving license required.
