Software Engineering Professional (Assembly, Bristol, United Kingdom) This is a hybrid role; 3 days in the Office, 2 days anywhere based in BristolWhy this job mattersThe Software Engineering Professional supports the execution of the software engineering strategy and roadmap that supports BT's commercial strategy through cross functional project and technical delivery and the participation of a team that pursues innovation as well as engineering excellence.You will be part of an agile software engineering team that supports: The EE TV platform, the EE TV App solution and the EE TV app solution Life cycle management of software services from inception through to delivery and ongoing support. A software engineering community that helps support each other to help define and follow software engineering best practices and techniques. What you’ll be doingDeliver software solutions and have a solid understanding of the importance of test-driven development, shared code ownership, pairing, agile principles, and the management of technical debt.Leverage public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) to design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions, ensuring alignment with cloud best practices and organisational standards. Delight customers by delivering rapid agile change while the team work at a sustainable pace. Work closely with others in your team to deliver reliable and maintainable solutions. Build reliable and well-tested systems. Troubleshoot issues, actively seeking out problems and solving them. Contribute to the software engineering community. Experiment with new technologies to help push the boundaries of what your team is building.
