Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in our First Response Services.
This post will involve working across our 3 sites in Bebington, Chester, and Congleton within the Home Treatment Team.
The post holder will be expected to collaborate closely with managers, commissioners, and clinicians on establishing and further developing this service.
Main duties of the job
1. Manage, appraise, and provide professional supervision to junior medical staff as agreed with colleagues and the medical director, in line with the Trust's policies. This may include assessing competencies under the Modernising Medical Careers framework.
2. Ensure junior medical staff operate within the parameters of the New Deal and comply with the Working Time Directive.
3. Undertake administrative duties related to patient care.
4. Accurately record clinical activity and submit reports promptly to the Information Department.
5. Participate in service and business planning activities for the locality and the wider mental health service.
6. Participate in annual appraisals for consultants.
7. Attend and contribute to the Trust's academic programmes, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme.
8. Maintain professional registration with the GMC, hold Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval, and adhere to professional codes of conduct.
