Job Purpose
This is a key position, supporting the Executive Team, to ensure the successful IT capability of our existing systems and lead the development of new technology, as the business grows.
Managing the relationship between business sponsors and IT suppliers, you will have exposure to a fast-paced collaborative project environment with work-packages differing in size and timescale so the ability to juggle projects simultaneously and complete these to strict deadlines is essential.
You will also ensure adequate performance of IT Service Suppliers to meet the operational priorities of your strategic business unit
Key Accountabilities
Business IT Change Planning
1. Formulate and deliver the Business IT Change Plan in context of annual business plans and the group IT strategy, including plans for future business growth
2. Work with the Senior Leadership Team to identify and assess wider business opportunities, supporting their execution through the planning, development and delivery of effective IT solutions
3. Drive and challenge business functions on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
4. Define change management strategies to support adoption of changes required by a project or initiative.
5. Act as IT liaison between clients, 3rd parties and the wider Group IT
Business Change Project Management
6. Coordinate end-to-end project phases from conception to completion, creating project plans and milestones, managing budgets, producing reports showing progress, identifying requirements, issues, risks, dependencies and changes
7. Establish and run project governance frameworks to ensure accountability and transparency of delivery status and performance for all parties
8. Elicit requirements using workshops, interviews, document analysis, business process descriptions, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
9. Work with IT suppliers (internal and external) to agree clear and measurable IT work-packages as a component of the end-to-end project delivery
10. Prepare and manage user and end-to-end testing work-packages
11. Ensure adequate training and operational readiness plans are prepared and delivered prior to system implementation
Operational Service Management
12. Work with Group IT Infrastructure & Service Management to provide the necessary IT infrastructure services (including desktop applications), networks, IT security and telecommunications
13. Work with IT Service desk to ensure urgency and impact of IT issues are appropriately recognised and managed to agreed service levels
14. Work with IT Development to provide timely and quality MI, ensuring effective quality assurance prior to delivery to the customer
15. Act as point of contact for information security, guiding business unit alignment to group security standards
16. Act as a point of contact for BC/DR planning and test executions, liaising with IT suppliers for specific system IT DR plans
Performance Management
17. Formal monthly tracking & reporting to the annual business plan, including reforecasting
18. Delivery status and business benefits tracking for key projects
19. Liaison with IT suppliers to provide SLA reporting, analysis and resolution of ‘business as usual’ IT services, e.g. service ticket resolution, systems availability

Candidates background & experience -
29. Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in IT or FM/Engineering project management related subject
30. Formal project management qualification (e.g. PMI, PMP, APM, PRINCE2, MSP)
31. Proven skills in project management, with experience of delivering end-to-end solutions
32. Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to effectively juggle multiple priorities
33. Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
34. Comfortable working at a strategic, operational and tactical level, as part of the Senior Leadership Team
35. Full end to end delivery of application systems, from requirement gathering and obtaining estimates to running workshops, UAT and implementation
36. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, comfortable distilling complex issues into structured frameworks and tactical action plans
