Overview
CAMHS Gateway is a new Assessment and Brief Intervention Service operating across Dorset. The primary focus is on providing high-quality clinical assessment of young people and families, as well as delivering brief, needs‑led, evidence‑based clinical interventions. This role offers the opportunity to help shape a growing service and make a genuine difference in the community.
Role Responsibilities
* Receive line management, caseload management and clinical skills supervision.
* Deliver individual and group therapy sessions to children, young people and families.
* Facilitate group work and work collaboratively with families and other professionals.
* Support the development of new initiatives and ideas to engage young people.
* Adapt to evolving service structures and, when required, work flexibly within extended hours.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Committed to providing high‑quality, brief evidence‑based treatment interventions for children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
* Familiar with the CYP IAPT core principles and possess the relevant specialist training.
* Experience working with children, young people and families who experience mental health difficulties, especially depression and anxiety.
* Ability to facilitate group work (training will be provided if needed).
* Car access and a valid driver's licence; the role involves travel to rural locations.
* Employment requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; the Trust will cover the cost of the check.
* Applicants must hold a valid right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
Contract & Working Hours
This is a full‑time post, but part‑time applicants with a minimum of 22.5 hours per week will also be considered. Work will be delivered through a mix of online and face‑to‑face sessions, and the Service promotes and supports hybrid working.
