We are looking for an experienced 3rd Line IT Support Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled IT professional with a strong background in Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V, and networking to take on a key role in delivering high-level technical support and solutions in a growing and ambitious IT Consultancy.
As a 3rd Line Engineer, you will handle complex technical escalations, assist in the design and implementation of IT infrastructure projects, and provide expert-level troubleshooting across a range of technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 3rd line technical support for escalated IT issues, ensuring timely resolution.
* Administer and manage Microsoft 365 and Azure, including Intune, Exchange Online, and security policies.
* Maintain and support Windows Server environments (2016 and later), including Active Directory, Group Policies, and server roles.
* Manage and troubleshoot virtualisation platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
* Oversee network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, firewalls, routers, VPNs, and VLANs.
* Assist with IT infrastructure projects, migrations, and deployments.
* Implement security best practices across systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Document technical processes, configurations, and solutions to improve efficiency and knowledge sharing.
* Work closely with 1st and 2nd Line Support teams, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
Skills & Experience we are looking for:
* Proven experience in a 3rd Line IT Support role
* In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
* Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, networking, and identity management.
* Expertise with Mobile Device Management (InTune)
* Expertise in managing Windows Server environments (2016 and later).
* Hands-on experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
* Strong networking knowledge, including firewalls, switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs, and Wi-Fi solutions.
* Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery, and failover clustering.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Strong documentation and communication skills.
