CNC Miller Setter / Operator 4 & 5 Axis Machining Aerospace Manufacturing Permanent Position
A well-established aerospace and defence manufacturing business is seeking an experienced CNC Miller Setter / Operator to join its precision machine shop team based in Romford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled aerospace machinist with strong 4-axis and 5-axis milling experience to join a growing business manufacturing high-quality precision components for demanding industries.
Working within a modern and well-equipped machining environment, you will be responsible for setting and operating advanced CNC milling machinery while ensuring components are manufactured to the highest quality standards.
The Role
* Set and operate CNC milling machines including:
o Matsuura 5-axis machining centres
o Mori Seiki horizontal machining centres
o Haas VMCs
* Manufacture precision aerospace and defence components to tight tolerances
* Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Carry out multi-datum setting and complex offset adjustments
* Ensure components meet customer and quality requirements
* Support continuous production within a fast-paced machine shop environment
* Diagnose and troubleshoot machine or process issues when required
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and quality
What We re Looking For
* Proven experience as a CNC Miller Setter / Operator
* Strong 4-axis and 5-axis machining experience
* Aerospace or defence manufacturing background preferred
* Experience with Fanuc controls
* Good working knowledge of:
o Matsuura
o Haas
o Mori Seiki machinery
* Ability to set machines right first time
* Experience working to tight tolerances and complex engineering drawings
* Mechanical engineering qualification, ONC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience
* Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
* Positive and team-oriented attitude

* £40,000 £48,000 DOE
