Project Manager (Defence and Aerospace)
Location: Segensworth, Fareham, UK. Core markets: Defence, Aerospace, Rail.
We at TÜV SÜD are passionate about technology and dedicated to safety. This role is part of the Project Management Team, delivering test and certification projects with cutting‑edge technologies.
Responsibilities
* Act as the principal intermediary between clients and testing facilities throughout projects.
* Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, preserving profit margins.
* Manage client expectations and create detailed project plans to track progress.
* Coordinate with test supervisors to guarantee timely delivery of samples, documentation and smooth workflow.
* Ensure accurate and timely delivery of contractual deliverables for invoicing.
* Maintain up‑to‑date project forecasts using business project‑management tools.
* Maintain full compliance with business tools and processes.
* Coordinate internal resources, subcontract testing, third parties, vendors and specialist equipment hire.
* Visit clients as required and conduct administrative tasks related to project delivery.
Qualifications
* Laboratory‑based product testing knowledge or experience in product qualification using laboratory testing.
* Exceptional organisational skills with ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
* Consistent ability to deliver, plan for contingencies and seek improvement opportunities.
* Deep understanding of customer needs and a focus on improving customer experience.
* A solid grasp of practical financial issues, commercial fundamentals, and profit drivers.
* A record of balancing technical judgement with commercial awareness.
* Competent user of Microsoft Office and bespoke business tools.
* Positive “can‑do” team player who engages proactively with colleagues and embraces change.
* Excellent communication skills – written, face‑to‑face and telephone.
* Self‑driven and results‑oriented.
