The role
As a Health Physicist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe delivery of nuclear-related projects, helping to protect people, infrastructure and the environment. Working on the 3 Dock Redevelopment at Rosyth, you’ll be at the forefront of implementing and embedding world-class radiological safety standards.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
1. Providing expert advice on radiological safety across nuclear-related projects
2. Supporting hazard identification and risk assessments for designs and operations
3. Implementing radiological protection measures, including shielding and containment systems
4. Advising on monitoring, dosimetry, ventilation and emergency arrangements
5. Collaborating with project teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and site licence requirements
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements on a flexible basis.
Essential experience of the Health Physicist
6. Demonstrating experience in a similar role or transferable expertise in radiological protection
7. Applying strong analytical skills to solve complex technical challenges
8. Communicating clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders
9. Building effective relationships and influencing decision-making across teams
10. Managing challenging situations with resilience and professionalism, with knowledge of emergency planning or REPPIR being advantageous
Qualifications for the Health Physicist
11. A degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience in radiological protection
12. Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant subject is desirable
13. Accredited Radiation Protection Advisor status or happy to work towards is desirable

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
