Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated HLTA to support in a secondary SEMH school in the Bolton area. Pupils may present with a range of complex needs including anxiety disorders, ADHD, oppositional behaviours, attachment difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma-related behaviours, and difficulties with emotional regulation.

The Role: HLTA Responsibilities
As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both teaching staff and pupils. Responsibilities include:
* Delivering planned lessons and learning activities to small groups or whole classes in the teacher’s absence
* Supporting pupils with SEMH needs through tailored interventions and behaviour support strategies
* Creating a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment
* Assisting teachers with planning, preparation and assessment
* Leading targeted academic or pastoral interventions
* Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement and progress
* Working collaboratively with the SENCO, pastoral team and external professionals
* Supporting pupils with de-escalation and emotional regulation techniques

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* HLTA qualification or significant experience as an experienced TA/cover supervisor supporting challenging behaviours
* Experience working with SEMH pupils or within an alternative provision/PRU environment
* Strong behaviour management and a calm, resilient approach
* Ability to deliver planned learning to groups or whole classes
* A passion for supporting vulnerable young people
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Right to work in the UK
* Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or already on the update service)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
