We are seeking a Consultant in Palliative Medicine to join our clinical leadership team of consultants, nurses and allied health professionals.
Main duties of the job
* Responsible consultant for the Lewisham community team and consultant support to Lambeth and Southwark community team; providing clinical leadership alongside senior nursing colleagues and oversight within MDT meetings.
* Participate in consultant rotation (aligned to service need) across Bromley, Croydon, the Inpatient Unit and Hospital at Home teams.
* Contribute to a 1 in 7 on-call rota covering community and inpatient services.
* Work with the Medical Director to support development of services, including integration with primary care and acute partners, and strategic work around inequalities, frailty and dementia.
* Lead and contribute to quality improvement and clinical audit.
* Support education, supervision and specialty training.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Consultant in Palliative Medicine to join our clinical leadership team of consultants, nurses and allied health professionals. This is an important moment for hospice care. Demand is increasing, clinical complexity is rising, and closer integration across health and social care is essential. This new LTFT post strengthens our consultant body as we continue to adapt our services to meet these realities.
Addressing health inequalities is central to our strategy. We are committed to improving access to specialist palliative care for underserved communities and delivering culturally responsive care, and we are looking for a consultant who will actively contribute to this work.
