We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer / M&E Technician with hands‑on multi‑skilled expertise and strong technical ability gained within M&E or Fit‑Out settings.
Job Overview
As a Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer / M&E Technician you will support the installation, testing and quality assurance of mechanical and electrical systems throughout the build process, using your engineering knowledge to deliver high‑quality finishes.
In this role you will work closely with colleagues across the Fit‑Out team, contributing to efficient build progress, problem‑solving challenges and supporting continuous improvement.
Salary
£16.46 – £17.70 per hour (plus opportunities for overtime at enhanced rates)

Plymouth, Devon (PL1) – Fully Site‑Based
Job Type
Full‑Time, Permanent
Working Hours
Day Shift (over 4 days), 38 hours, Monday to Thursday 07:00 – 17:00
Duties
* Install Mechanical and Electrical Components: Fit components to specification and build sequence
* Test Electrical Circuits: Diagnose, fault‑find and resolve issues to ensure compliance
* Mechanical and Electrical Fault‑Finding: Identify and carry out corrective actions
* Air Conditioning Installation: Install and commission systems as required
* Laminating Tasks: Complete laminating duties to support build requirements
* Support New Starters: Mentor colleagues at the same or lower grade
* Compliance Documentation: Complete checks and records within the boat file
* Problem Solving: Tackle build challenges and contribute to improved efficiency
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience in a multi‑skilled, Fit‑Out or M&E role
* Experience working in a garage as a vehicle technician / automotive technician / mechanic / car mechanic will also be considered
* Level 3 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent)
* Strong engineering skills and excellent attention to detail
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and information
* Team‑focused with a proactive approach to supporting the build process
