We’re working with a leading building services contractor delivering complex, high-value projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to appoint an experienced Construction Manager to lead site-based delivery teams.
This role would also suit a Mechanical Site Engineer or Site Manager looking to step up into a Construction Manager position.
The Role
As Construction Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for site delivery, leading installation teams and subcontractors across all construction phases.
You will:
* Lead and manage site-based construction and installation activities
* Oversee projects from design, engineering and procurement through to completion
* Ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with specifications
* Drive programme performance, ensuring key milestones are achieved
* Manage subcontractors, labour and site resources effectively
* Monitor quality, productivity and site standards
* Support commercial teams with variations, progress reporting and cost control
* Lead site meetings with clients and internal stakeholders
* Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and company procedures
* Oversee commissioning, snagging and project handover
You will have:
* Proven experience in a Construction Manager, Site Manager or Senior Site Engineer role within MEP / Building Services
* Strong mechanical bias
* Experience delivering projects from installation through to commissioning and handover
* Background managing subcontractors and site teams on live projects
* Solid understanding of programme delivery, site logistics and project coordination
Technical Knowledge
* Strong understanding of building services systems and MEP installations
* Experience with method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work
* Knowledge of commissioning processes and procedures
* Understanding of construction contracts and commercial awareness
* Familiarity with BIM processes and project coordination tools
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Construction Site Supervision or similar
* HNC/HND or equivalent in Building Services / Engineering
* CSCS (Black Card / ECS / JIB)
* Relevant Health & Safety qualification
* SMSTS or equivalent
* Full UK driving licence
