Join Our Team as a Pipefitter!
Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun (On-site, with a requirement to attend a recruitment day in Glasgow)
Salary: £38,662.00 (plus a potential shift allowance of 33%)
Your Role:
As a Pipefitter, you will be at the heart of our operations, fabricating and installing piping systems that are crucial to our projects in the defence sector. Your expertise will ensure that our installations meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Fabricate and install pipework systems using various materials, including copper, cuni, carbon steel, and stainless steel.
* Utilize hand tools and mechanical equipment for cutting, bending, and welding pipes.
* Install utilities aboard ships, such as sinks, showers, and toilets.
* Assemble fittings, valves, and related components according to technical drawings and specifications.
* Collaborate with other trades to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
* Adhere to safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed.
Your Skills and Experience:
Essential:
* Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers and relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* Current knowledge and experience in pipe manufacture, installation, and associated equipment.
* Strong understanding of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety standards.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH, and Risk Assessments.
* Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within an industrial or commercial environment.
Desirable:
* Experience in marine pipefitting.
* Background in industrial or commercial settings.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Experience in TIG Pipe Welding.
