We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at B. Braun Sterilog! Our decontamination facility plays a vital role in healthcare by ensuring surgical and medical equipment are delivered to hospitals in a clean and safe condition.
As a Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of engineering and building services equipment.
You will conduct condition surveys, assess inspection reports, and oversee maintenance repairs, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and procedures.
Please note, your role will include providing emergency out-of-hours services, working a rotating shift pattern covering 365 days a year – enhancements will be paid for this.
Your main responsibilities:
* Calibrating and fault finding on various engineering plants and equipment including:
o voltage systems,
o steam raising plant and associated equipment,
o steam sterilizers,
o instrument washers,
o lighting,
o fire detection,
o standby generators,
o building services controls,
o heating and ventilation control systems.
* Planning and organizing major planned works, service interruptions, and other maintenance activities.
* Serving as an Authorized Person (AP) or Deputy AP for specific services and systems.
* Diagnosing and solving technical issues on complex Mechanical and Electrical systems.
* Producing or contributing to risk assessments for all work elements.
What you need to succeed:
* Completion of a recognized and registered CITB or EITB apprenticeship.
* Experience with breakdowns and PPM on technical and medical equipment.
* Ability to work autonomously and manage a high workload.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Teamwork and coordination skills with other trades.
* Experience in a sterile environment is advantageous, but full training in the decontamination industry will be provided.
