Project Lead – Data Centre Construction

Location: Blyth, Northumberland, United Kingdom

PE Global Recruitment is partnering with a leading international engineering and construction contractor to recruit an experienced Project Lead for a major hyperscale data centre development in Blyth, UK

.

Reporting directly to the Project Director, the Project Lead will assume overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, ensuring all works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a highly capable construction professional with strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and proven experience managing large-scale complex projec

  • ery.Review and evaluate construction methodologies, commercial proposals, pricing submissions, and scopes of w
  • ork.Chair and lead client meetings, project progress reviews, and coordination meeti
  • ngs.Monitor factors impacting project costs and provide detailed reporting, analysis, and recommendations to senior managem
  • ent.Manage procurement activities and oversee long-lead equipment and material delivery schedu
  • les.Review, validate, and audit cost estimates, valuations, and financial submissions from subcontractors and suppli
  • ers.Support engineering and design teams by providing cost and programme input during design development and change management proces
  • ses.Track equipment procurement, manufacturing, and delivery progress against project schedu
  • les.Collaborate with project controls and planning teams to ensure accurate reporting and schedule managem
  • ent.Review and approve subcontractor applications for payment, invoices, and retention relea
  • ses.Lead the project close-out process, ensuring all documentation, warranties, commissioning records, and final deliverables are completed to client requireme
  • nts.Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance throughout the project lifecy

Require

  • mentsMinimum of 10 years' experience in a senior project leadership role within construction, engineering, mission-critical, infrastructure, or data centre environm
  • ents.Proven track record managing large-scale construction projects from inception through comple
  • tion.Strong commercial acumen with experience in cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial con
  • trol.Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication sk
  • ills.Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environ
  • ment.Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing dem
  • ands.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management soft
  • ware.Experience working on data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desir
