Overview


Due to team expansion, we’re looking for an Insurance Broker Account Manager to join our Care and Charities team, based in our City Centre Birmingham Office. As an Account Manager, you will be underwriting on a fully delegated authority scheme for Domiciliary Care and Supported Living Agencies and broking Care Home risks and related products.

Within this multifaceted role, you can expect to be processing renewals, mid-term adjustments, and new business— involving both Direct and Wholesale, working directly with Primary Care related organisations and cross-selling on Cyber, PA, Fidelity Guarantee, D&O.

An individual who can provide a quality service to new and existing clients, has Acturis knowledge, and has excellent communication skills. If you have previous experience in other lines of insurance, we are able to provide training and upskill individuals within the Charities and Care Sector.


How you'll make an impact


* Maintain relationships with clients, assisting with day-to-day enquiries, MTAs, and confirming cover arrangements.
* Generate new business quotations and cross-sell appropriate additional cover.
* Prepare for renewal by reviewing mid-term changes, acquiring claims listings, and issuing PRQ.
* Ensure all details of calls, correspondence, and risk details updates are uploaded to Acturis.
* Prepare terms where delegated authority is provided, referring where appropriate.
* Prepare market presentations and broker all risks to market including e-trade & schemes.
* Negotiate terms both in respect of price and policy coverage.
* Compare cover options, assess suitability, and build quotations, letters, or reports as appropriate.
* Instruct insurers in good time, check and issue policy documentation including Certificates.
* Invoice, arrange finance, and process card payments.
* Lapse policies, RFQs, and clients on Acturis on expiry/cancellation.
* Produce and issue Summary of Insurance where required.
* Diary all outstanding matters and follow up as appropriate.
* Handle all account queries, highlighting any concerns to line managers on time.
* Raise any complaints, errors, or omissions with management on discovery to protect Gallagher’s reputation.
* Maintain and update knowledge of insurance products, services, and markets as developments occur.
* Build and maintain a network of contacts in both internal and external markets.
* Provide training and/or coaching for less experienced colleagues.

About You

Your Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

* Good understanding of insurance principles and the coverage, terms, and conditions of risk types along with the requirements of the niche sectors we operate in.
* Risk-aware with strong planning and analytical skills, along with accuracy and high attention to detail.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Empathy and the ability to remain calm and composed when working under pressure and facing challenges.
* Ability to ask relevant questions to identify client needs.
* Adept at negotiating to achieve desired results.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Able to plan and organize, multitasking to support several lines of enquiry within a regulated, measurable framework to achieve SLA’s.
* Professional and empathetic with internal and external clients, maintaining confidentiality and integrity at all times.
* Proficiency in MS Office, Acturis, E-trade platforms, and Gallagher applications.
* Aligned with Gallagher Values and Behaviours.
* Willingness to achieve Cert CII as a minimum and work towards ACII.
