Role Responsibility
VSK is seeking to appoint a new member of staff to its South Kent team to be part of our dynamic and committed service supporting the education of children and young people in care to Kent. Could this be you?
VSK has a core aim of improving outcomes for young people in care. Health and education are important pathways to a better life, and we are determined to work hard, in partnership with our fellow professionals, to raise the attainment and achievement of our children in care to Kent and to improve their health and well-being, giving them the best opportunities we can. The area team supports children from pre school to 16 years of age.
Key elements of the FELO role are working with carers and parents so that our young people in care fully attend and engage in their education. The role does require some specific experience and skills as outlined in the job description, but training can be given. We are looking for someone who is passionate about our work.
The successful applicant will work as part of a team of VSK staff in the South Kent area, which includes Deal, Dover Folkestone, Hythe, New Romney and Canterbury city. The role will focus upon supporting early years development, and building effective working relationships with foster carers and fostering social workers to support Kents children in care in schools.
