Your Role And Responsibilities
* Plan and execute field service work on switchgear and related equipment, ensuring delivery in line with customer orders and expectations.
* Troubleshoot equipment and process failures, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and ensure issues are resolved “first time right.”
* Collaborate with customers on-site to identify operational improvement opportunities and communicate them to the ABB account team.
* Prepare service documentation, reports, and material lists, ensuring all service activities meet ABB quality and safety standards.
* Coach and guide Associate Technicians and Associate Engineers; support training for colleagues and customers when needed.
Qualifications For The Role
* Electrical engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience in power systems, electrical distribution, or related field.
* 3+ years of experience in field service, switchgear maintenance, power distribution equipment, or industrial electrical systems.
* Strong technical knowledge of LV/MV switchgear, diagnostics, testing tools, and field service practices.
* Ability to work safely, apply risk assessment, and follow established safety and environmental procedures.
* Mindset to innovate, take ownership, and drive continuous improvement.
* Strong communication skills with ability to build customer trust and deliver excellent service.
* Full UK driving licence (or relevant local requirement).
