Planning Support Officer
* Location: Office Based, Barnsley
* Salary: £14.36 per hour PAYE
* Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Flexible working)
* Job Type: Full-time, Temp
We are seeking a dedicated Service Controller to join our team. This role is central to the scheduling and dispatching of work within Construction Services, ensuring efficient operations and a focus on high-quality, customer-focused service.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Scheduling and Dispatching:
o Electronically schedule, allocate, and dispatch work to operatives.
o Liaise with operational managers and operatives to reschedule work efficiently.
* Customer Interaction:
o Handle customer and tenant enquiries and complaints.
o Manage direct calls and enquiries from customers and partners.
* Team Support:
o Assist in managing job queues and booking repair appointments.
o Provide relief planner support and call handling as needed.
* Service Improvement:
o Contribute to the development and implementation of new working methods.
o Assist in achieving Best Value and performance targets.
* Communication and Coordination:
o Help implement a comprehensive communication system.
o Coordinate with various departments to monitor and improve working practices.
* Additional Duties:
o Administer scheduling and rescheduling of cyclical orders.
o Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
o Participate in reviews and inspections, implementing operational outcomes.
o Monitor performance against Key Performance Indicators.
o Maintain information systems and ensure data protection compliance.
o Attend meetings and provide support to other members of the Directorate.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Essential:
o 4 GCSEs (Grade A – C) or equivalent.
o Experience in a Repairs Service environment and customer-focused service delivery.
o Proficiency in computerised work scheduling software and Microsoft Office.
o Knowledge of operational procedures for repair and maintenance services.
o Analytical skills for assessing service delivery issues.
o Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
o Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
o Commitment to excellent customer service and Equality & Diversity.
o Ability to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
