We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for an Education Lawyer on a three month rolling contract. The position is due to start BY mid-June and the hourly rate of pay is c.£60 via an Umbrella company.
This role can be offered on a full remote basis.
The ideal candidate will have experience conducting a full case load of SEND Tribunal appeals and providing duty advice to the internal education department and externally to schools.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Not limited to SEND tribunals — covers the full spectrum of education matters, including admissions, discrimination, and judicial reviews
* Caseload will include all types of SEND appeals: refusal to assess, complex appeals, extended appeals, and disability discrimination claims
* Provide duty advice to the internal education department and externally to schools
* Responsible for providing training and supervision to the team
Experience required:
* Local authority experience is preferred and advantageous
Working arrangements:
* Tribunal hearings are fully remote.
* Court appearances also conducted remotely
Working hours:
* 37 hours per week (part-time hours considered)
