We are seeking a highly competent and strategically-minded Data Specialist to join our Central Data Management Team. This critical role is designed to ensure two of our academies meet all Trust data requirements and statutory obligations, while simultaneously facilitating robust, data-driven decision-making essential for continuous school improvement. This is a high-impact position for a professional eager to translate data integrity into educational success.
Essential Expertise and Requirements
The successful candidate will possess a proven combination of technical mastery and educational data compliance knowledge:
 1. MIS Expertise (Technical Proficiency): Demonstrated expert knowledge of school Management Information Systems (MIS) is required. Direct, proven experience with Bromcom is strongly preferred.
 2. Educational Data Compliance: A deep and current understanding of UK educational data requirements, including DfE returns, statutory census submissions, and key performance indicators (KPIs), is mandatory.
 3. Core Professional Skills: Exceptional organizational, planning, and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with academy leadership and central Trust teams.
Key Accountabilities and Duties
This role requires a proactive and meticulous approach to data management and reporting:
 4. MIS Optimisation and Integrity: Maintain and continually optimise the MIS (with a particular focus on assessment modules) to ensure the robust, accurate, and consistent capture of data across the allocated academies.
 5. Statutory Submission Management: Take ownership of the preparation and submission of all statutory data returns, including the critical DfE Census, ensuring complete compliance and timely submission for both academies.
 6. Strategic Reporting: Produce high-quality, ad hoc reports beyond the scope of current Trust data provision to deliver detailed, actionable data insights for teaching staff and senior school leaders.
 7. Primary Data Liaison: Act as the first point of contact for all data-related enquiries within the allocated academies, providing authoritative guidance and support.
This is an opportunity to leverage your data management expertise to directly influence educational outcomes and strategic direction within a supportive central team structure.
The academies you will be covering are Leigh Academy Mascalls, and Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School. Term-time working can also be considered.
